Hawaiian Airlines brought a taste of Hawaii to the Virgin Australia Lounge at Sydney’s Domestic terminal recently with an ‘Aloha Friday’ pop up bar.

Serving Mai Tais and Hawaiian cocktailsHawaiian entertained VA’s Lounge guests with a Ukulele player and Hula dancers, Honolulu Cookie Company treats and Ku kui nut leis.

Lounge guests also received special offer for discounted Hawaiian Airlines flights from Sydney or Brisbane to Honolulu and Hawaii’s neighbour islands.

Lounge guest and TV personality Denise Drysdale added to the Aloha spirit by spontaneously showing off her own hula skills

The activation highlighted Hawaiian Airlines’ partnership with Virgin Australia, which allows Velocity Frequent Flyer Members to earn and redeem Velocity Points when flying Hawaiian Airlines between Australia and Honolulu and Hawaii’s neighbour islands. Members can also earn Status Credits on all eligible fare types.

Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin Australia expanded their codeshare agreement earlier this year to offer travellers throughout Australia a broader and more convenient network of flights to Hawaii.

The enhanced partnership provides greater access to the Hawaiian Islands for travellers originating from beyond Hawaiian’s gateways of Sydney (SYD) and Brisbane (BNE).

Virgin Australia guests can now book non-stop flights from Brisbane (BNE) and Sydney (SYD) to Honolulu and beyond to Maui (OGG), Kauai (LIH), and Kona on the Island of Hawaii (KOA) on flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines.
