Hawaiian Airlines celebrated its fifth anniversary of flights between Honolulu and Brisbane with an industry cocktail party at Brisbane’s popular Stokehouse Q and lei greetings, cookies and Hawaiian entertainment for passengers departing the same evening on the airline’s anniversary flight.

Passengers at Brisbane International Airport cheered and clapped as hula dancers and ukulele players performed at the airline’s check-in counters – every passenger received a Kukui nut Lei and Hawaiian Cookies presented by Hawaiian Airlines staff.

Industry partners and travel agents from Brisbane and South East Queensland joined the airline’s Australian management team and were welcomed with the airline’s signature Mea Ho‘okipa (translation: “I am host”) as Hawaiian toasted its 5th successful year of Brisbane-Honolulu services.

“Brisbane is an important part of our network, we have made firm friends in Queensland and attracted many wonderful, loyal passengers.  We are pleased to be able to give back to the travel community and those folks who have supported us,” said Gai Tyrrell, Regional Director Australia and New Zealand for Hawaiian Airlines.

“Our 5th Anniversary celebrations at the airport and in the city are also a big mahalo (thank you) to the people of Brisbane and the wider Queensland region who have shown consistently strong support for Hawaiian Airline’s over the past five years. To them, and to our wonderful team in Brisbane we say Mahalo nui loa.”
