To celebrate 15 years of nonstop service between Sydney and Honolulu, Hawaiian Airlines is offering these exclusive deals.
Coinciding with the airline’s 90th year of continuous operations, Hawaiian Airlines is marking the milestone by offering Australian travellers exclusive fares from just $899 return to Honolulu, with additional return flights from Honolulu to ‘neighbour islands’ for just $15 return.*
Andrew Stanbury, Hawaiian Airlines’ Regional Director of Australia/New Zealand, said: “This is a special anniversary for us, and the timing couldn’t be better with our 90th birthday just around the corner. We have our guests to thank for our success and would like to extend our warmest mahalo (thank you) for their loyal support through the years.”
“Hawaiian Airlines has played a tremendous role in introducing Hawaii as a top holiday destination for Australians and providing travellers with more options to experience all of our islands or seamlessly connect beyond to the Mainland USA,” Mr Stanbury added.
Since May 17, 2014, when Hawaiian first shared its authentic Hawaiian hospitality aboard the inaugural flight from Honolulu to Sydney, the total number of flights between Australia and Hawaii has increased by almost 75 percent (all airlines). In 2004, there were just 686 departures, while 1193 departures are expected in 2019.
Hawaiian Airlines itself has carried 1.71 million guests between Sydney and Honolulu since the route’s launch.
Significantly, approximately 21 percent of Hawaiian’s guests departing from Sydney or Brisbane (launched in 2012) choose to fly directly onward to the US Mainland via Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).
Hawaii also continues to be an extremely popular stopover destination for Australians. The most popular Hawaiian ‘neighbour islands’ beyond Oahu, are Maui, the Island of Hawaii (The Big Island) and Kauai, while the leading US Mainland connections include Los Angeles, New York City (JFK) and Las Vegas.
Hawaiian also commenced non-stop flights between Honolulu and Boston on April 4, taking the total number of US Mainland gateway cities to which it operates from Hawaii to 13.
*From Friday, May 17, until Friday, May 24, special celebratory fares are available for sale starting from $899 per person return from Sydney or Brisbane to Honolulu (all-inclusive) plus $15 to add return flights from Honolulu to a ‘neighbour island.’
