Is airplane food getting worse?

Flying on a low cost carrier, you can’t expect much, but when you pay for food, you do expect it to be palatable.

No it so for Alex, an easyJet passenger flying from Paris to London Gatwick.

Alex paid $10 a bottle of water and Roasted Vegetable and Hummus Baguette and dubbed it the “worst airline food ever”, The Sun reported.

While he got a lot of hummus, there was just a smattering of vegetable clustered to one bit of the roll. And, because it was too close to landing, he didn’t get his water.

“I was in disbelief at first. It is the sort of stuff you hear about with airline food. I spoke to the crew and asked for another sandwich,” Alex said.

“The flight attendant told me ‘not to be surprised’ and that pictures rarely reflect reality. They gave me another and it was pretty much as bad.”

“We’re aware of this footage and will be looking into this with our in-flight retail supplier as it appears that the item served falls short of the high standards we expect from our in-flight food and drink range for our customers,” an easyJet spokesperson told The Sun.

“We will be in touch with the customer to apologise for their experience and provide a gesture of goodwill.”
