Showcasing some of Australia most beautiful locations, Qantas has unveiled its new inflight safety video.
An evolution of its popular 2016 release, the video features “everyday Australians in unique destinations” across the country, and features cameos by the Bangarra dance troupe at Botany Bay, the crew from “Wild Oats XI” in Sydney Harbour, and designer Daniel Avakian on a Melbourne fashion runway.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce described the video, which will be used to promote key tourism markets in Australia, as informative and engaging.
“What we’ve found is that it’s a lot easier to grab people’s attention with something that’s interesting to watch,” Mr Joyce said.
“We know the combination of beautiful landscapes and laid-back Aussie charm really cuts through.
“It’s also why this video doubles as a perfect tourism ad.
“Finding smart ways to reach new audiences is a priority for Qantas and the whole Australian tourism industry, and we’re looking forward to rolling the video out as part of our strategy to keep visitor numbers growing.
“We’re confident it’ll strike a chord with travellers from around the world, not to mention Australians thinking about holidaying at home.”
A co-production with Tourism Australia and state bodies, the 3-minute, multi-lingual video will debut on 1 February across Qantas domestic and international flights.
In other Qantas news, hoping to get the go-ahead for its formal tie-up with American Airlines, the flying kangaroo says it will cut some code-sharing and loyalty points reciprocity with the US airline.
Qantas confirmed it would re-apply to the US Department of Transportation for approval of the alliance over the weekend.
