To mark the reopening of the border between South Australia and NSW, the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC), Qantas and Qantas Hotels will be giving away 200 return flights from Sydney to Adelaide.
Run in partnership with Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa breakfast show, the campaign will also see five major holiday packages to SA awarded each day from today (28 September). The initiative will run on air and online at novafm.com.au.
“From vineyard tours in the Barossa, to luxury lodges on Kangaroo Island, glamping in the Flinders and diving with sharks in Port Lincoln, NSW residents can now discover the state’s world-class gourmet options, jaw dropping landscapes, abundant wildlife, vibrant city life and iconic coastal culture,” according to SATC CEO Rodney Harrex said.
“We have operators who are already taking strong bookings from NSW, so this is a great chance to jump on a plane, get down to Adelaide and experience all that we have on offer.”
Visits to southaustralia.com from NSW, SA’s second largest domestic market, are up by 39% compared to the week prior to the announcement. Second only to Victorians, NSW visitors spend more than $779 million each year in South Australia.
Along with its usual experiences, state capital Adelaide will also host SA’s first NRL State of Origin match in November.
