Singapore Airlines takes gold in the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards

One of Asia’s leading carriers, the nod is an endorsement of excellence from millions of travellers.

Singapore Airlines claimed Skytrax's top gong for the fifth time.

Singapore Airlines has claimed the prestigious title of World’s Best Airline in the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards, marking the fifth time the carrier has taken out the prestigious accolade.

“This award is a testament to the indomitable spirit of our people, who worked tirelessly and made many sacrifices to ensure that SIA was ready for the recovery in air travel,” said Singapore Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Goh Choon Phong.

“That has allowed us to emerge stronger and fitter from the pandemic as a leading international airline.”

Presented on the sidelines of the 2023 Paris Air Show, the Skytrax World Airline Awards are tabulated form more than 20 million surveys submitted by travellers from 100 countries, who rated 325 different airlines between September 2022 and May 2023.

Fiji Airways was voted the best airline in the Australia & Pacific region.

“We are very grateful to our customers for their enduring loyalty to and affection for Singapore Airlines. During the pandemic, their support and encouragement gave us the strength and determination to overcome the unprecedented challenges,” Goh said.

Singapore Airlines Group was also awarded four other categories in the 2023 Awards, taking home the Best First Class Airline, Best First Class Comfort Amenities and Best Airline in Asia gongs, while low-cost subsidiary Scoot was named Best Long Haul Low-cost Airline.

Closer to home, Fiji Airways was recognised in the same ceremony as Skytrax Best Airline in Australia and the Pacific – the first time the carrier was recognised in the category.

Other major categories saw Qatar Airways win World’s Best Business Class for its innovative QSuite along with Best Airline in the Middle East, World's Best Business Class Lounge and World's Best Business Class Lounge Dining.
