Cunard’s new luxury ship, Queen Anne, has sailed into her home port of Southampton ahead of her maiden voyage to Lisbon.

Queen Anne is the 249th ship to sail under the Cunard flag. As she sailed into her new home for the very first time, she was accompanied by several small crafts from the local boating community in celebration of her historic arrival.

Thousands of spectators took up vantage points along Southampton Water to catch a glimpse of the 113,000-ton, 3,000-guest vessel.

The ship arrived from Italy following an official handover ceremony at the Fincantieri Maghera shipyard in Venice on April 19.

An official blessing and plaque exchange ceremony will take place while the ship is alongside at Mayflower Terminal.

Queen Anne now joins her sister ships Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. It is the first time since 1999 that Cunard has four ships in simultaneous service.
